This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

When you create an account, purchase a pass, or use our services, we may collect:

  • Full name, email address, and phone number
  • Home address and ZIP code
  • Payment information (processed securely through Stripe; we do not store full credit card numbers)
  • Pass code (HSP-XXXXXX) and account credentials
  • Profile photo (if uploaded)
  • Home profile details (property type, service interests, special instructions)

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Platform:

  • Pages visited, features used, and actions taken
  • Booking history and service redemption records
  • Search queries and service preferences
  • Referral and promotional code usage

Device Information

We may collect information about the device you use to access our Platform:

  • Device type, operating system, and browser type
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Push notification tokens (for mobile app notifications)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and manage our services— process pass purchases, facilitate bookings between customers and service providers, and manage your account
  • Communicate with you— send booking confirmations, service reminders, pass expiration notices, and respond to support inquiries
  • Process payments— handle pass purchases, service payments, refunds, and provider payouts
  • Improve our Platform— analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and develop new features
  • Send marketing communications— deliver promotional offers, member discounts, and service recommendations (with your consent, where required)
  • Ensure safety and security— detect fraud, enforce our terms of service, and protect the rights of our users and providers
  • Comply with legal obligations— respond to legal requests and prevent illegal activities

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers on our Platform— when you book a service, we share your name, address, phone number, and service details with the assigned provider so they can deliver the service
  • Payment Processors— we use Stripe to process payments. Your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy
  • Communication Services— we use third-party services (described in Section 9) to send emails, SMS messages, and push notifications
  • Legal Requirements— we may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of HSP, our users, or the public
  • Business Transfers— if HSP is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL
  • Secure storage of passwords using industry-standard hashing algorithms
  • Encryption of sensitive credentials (such as two-factor authentication secrets) at rest
  • HttpOnly, Secure cookies for authentication tokens to prevent cross-site scripting attacks
  • Rate limiting to prevent brute-force attacks
  • Regular security audits and dependency updates

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

  • Access your data— request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct your data— update inaccurate or incomplete information through your account settings or by contacting us
  • Delete your data— request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Opt out of marketing— unsubscribe from promotional emails or opt out of SMS marketing at any time (see Section 8 for SMS details)
  • Withdraw consent— where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time
  • Data portability— request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format

6. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Essential cookies— maintain your authentication session and remember your preferences
  • Analytics— understand how visitors use our Platform so we can improve the experience
  • Performance— monitor Platform performance and diagnose errors (via Sentry)

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of the Platform.

8. SMS / Text Messages

By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS/text messages from Home Service Pass related to your account, bookings, pass status, and promotional offers.

  • Message frequency varies based on your account activity
  • Message and data rates may apply
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages

Opting Out (CTIA STOP Compliance)

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After opting out:

  • You will receive a single confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out
  • No further SMS messages will be sent unless you re-opt in
  • Opting out of SMS does not affect service-critical communications sent via email or push notification

TCPA Compliance

We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). We record the date and time of your SMS consent and will not send marketing messages without your prior express consent. Your consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.
